Auroras!
There were reports of widespread aurora activity visible throughout Canada and the U.S. last night due to a coronal mass ejection of ionized particles from the Sun. Did I see them? Of course not. It's been cloudy almost every single #*@#&* night here in the Hudson Valley this fall. Did I mention I'm teaching Observational Astronomy - a course that requires us to go outside and view the night sky. Did I mention it's been cloudy all the time? Anyway, visit Spaceweather.com for some neat aurora pictures from places where it wasn't cloudy.
