Auroras

Nice aurora borealis displays going on the past couple of nights from that coronal mass ejection off sunspot 1092.  Another stream of particles expected to hit the Earth today so it's still possible to catch something tonight (the further north you are, and the darker your skies, the better chance you'll have).

I've gone out past couple of nights here in NY to look but we're just too far south and there were a lot of clouds to the north.  The aurora gallery shows the following shot from Little Sioux, Iowa at 42 N, same as my latitude so you never know (faint to the eye but his camera picked it up nicely).
